Art of Discovery Project
Theme: "Nature In Art"
April 2nd-6th and April 16th-20th 2018
Developed and presented by the Junior League in collaboration with the Bellevue Arts Museum, the Art of Discovery brings learning through art schools with a PTA Docent Training program that focuses on the Northwest Art Collection. PTA Art Docents are equipped with docent training, inquiry-based lesson plans, and activities to support multi-dimensional learning. These docents then return to their schools to teach from original artwork from the Pacific Northwest region. Through informal and intimate discussion of our thematically organized exhibits, children learn critical thinking and communication skills. This unique and innovative program enables students and teachers to experience an art museum in their own school setting.
The Frank Love Elementary PTA brings the Art of Discovery to the school, and is presented by volunteer docents to each classroom. The "Gallery" is set up in the library, and over the next two weeks, your children will get an opportunity to see original art and learn more about Northwest artists.
The Collection includes works by Northwest masters Guy Anderson, Dale Chihuly, William Cumming, Morris Graves, Fay Jones, Jacob Lawrence, Sherry Markovitz, Alden Mason, Norie Sato, and many others.
